The Johnson County Home and Community Education (HCE) held their annual Mothers’ Day Luncheon on Saturday, May 3, 11am to 1:30pm, at the fellowship hall of the Community of Christ Church of Tunnel Hill.
The tablescapes featured china, silver, and crystal place settings, provided by the HCE board members. The centerpieces were Spring floral bouquets, which were given as door prizes. Each place setting had a package of flower seeds and candy as a favor.
A silent auction was ongoing, with items provided by the generous businesses and individuals of the county, who also provided door prizes.
HCE Board President Natalie Dougherty welcomed the guests and provided a prayer prior to the luncheon.
The menu included Summertime Salad, Glazed Carrots, Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole, Rolls, and Layered Desserts of blueberry, pistachio, chocolate, strawberry and lemon, along with iced tea, lemonade and coffee.
