Cherie Almaroad Benefit set for November 6

A Fundraiser Dinner and Live Auction is planned at the Goreville School Cafeteria Saturday, November 6, 2021 for Cherie Almaroad!

Cherie is a Precious Member of the Goreville Community. She has been Married to Ronnie Almaroad for 40 Years. They have a daughter, Sarah Almaroad Vick, and 2 Grandchildren, Jaxon and Raegan.

Cherie has worked at Magna Bank, Union Planters Bank and Regions Bank in Goreville. She Retired from Regions Bank in Marion in July following 22 years. A week later she was diagnosed with two Brain Tumors. One was 2 inches and located on the Frontal Lobe, and a smaller one was located in back of the Brain near the Ventricles.

The Doctors at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. did a Brain Biopsy on August13th and Cherie underwent Surgery on the 16th to remove as much of the tumors as they could.

Glioma Tumors are fast growing and attach onto good tissue, so they weren’t able to remove the entire tumor. The Cancer is Treatable but they think it is incurable. She was transferred August 21st to Herrin Hospital for Rehab to work on getting function-ability on her left side. She went home on August 28th.

Cherie began her Chemo/Radiation for 5 days a week for 5 Weeks back in St. Louis. Friends and Members of the Goreville Community are Planning the Benefit Fundraiser to help offset Expenses!

The Dinner will be from 4p.m. to 8p .. m., Adults $8, Children $4 Donations. The Dinner will be Cheesy Chicken Pasta OR Spaghetti with Salad, Bread Stick, Dessert and Drink in the Goreville School Cafeteria.

The Live Auction with Auctioneer Robin Harper Whitehead, will begin at 6p.m. with Several Large Gift Baskets, Holiday Wreaths, Local Painting, Crafts and Handmade Afghan, Gift Cards and some Homemade Cakes provided by Members and Businesses of the Community.
